Lapis Lazuli Ring I

After having some failures of creating success in projects for customers, I needed something that would boost my ego and confidence a little bit. Plus, a few of you had been asking me to create something for myself since I've been somewhat on the sour side of jewelry making.

So, in return. I have this. A beautiful multi sterling silver square band of Lapis Lazuli set in scallop bezel mount. I rounded off the edges a bit on the band to make it more smooth. The outer bands are no longer squared, more like round wire. The scallop bezel actually gave it a nice antique look. I wasn't sure how it would appear on the stone if it would try to cover it too much. I don't generally use scallop wire, it's cheap, but I was dry of bezel wire and I went to a local store to pick up what they had available rather then mail ordering. Either way, it came out nicely. I like how I always set my stones in non traditional way. If it was set the long way, then I can just go to the store and buy it...lol

This was not a lapis lazuli in my collection. I wasn't just ready yet to use one of my lapis with heavy content of gold flakes. This has some, but it's more like it sparkles when the sun light hits it, but there's no real visible gold flakes like in the other pieces I own.
